On July 25, LifeCare Health Partners announced a new executive team to lead LifeCare Hospitals of Pittsburgh. This experienced team includes:
- Jen Malko, Market Chief Executive Officer
- Janet Routman, Market Chief Operating Officer
- Dr. Bill Goldfarb, Chief Medical Officer
- Sally Ann Schneider, Behavioral Health Hospital of Pittsburg Chief Executive Officer
- Paula Pawloski, Chief Nursing Officer

About the Team:
Jen Malko brings more than 20 years of experience to her new role as Market Chief Executive Officer. In her tenure with LifeCare she served as Market Director of Business Development for LifeCare Hospitals of Pittsburgh and was subsequently promoted to nationwide Vice President of Business Development for LifeCare Health Partners. Jen’s previous experience includes several executive roles in post-acute care settings. She holds degrees in criminal justice, social work and nursing. She lives in Pittsburgh with her husband and son.
Janet Routman, R.N., M.S.N., CENP, is a seasoned hospital executive with more than 25 years in the acute and post-acute settings in roles at both LifeCare Hospitals and UPMC in Pittsburgh. Most recently she served as Regional Director of Clinical Operations for LifeCare’s West Region. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing. Janet is also certified as a CENP (certified executive in nursing practice).
With more than 40 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Bill Goldfarb joins the LifeCare team as its new Chief Medical Officer. In 1973, Dr. Goldfarb received his M.D. from the Chicago Medical School and was trained in burn trauma, while serving in the U.S. Army. He went on to receive surgical training at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital, as well as the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Experienced as the CMO at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital, and as Senior VP at The Allegheny Health Network, Dr. Goldfarb has been published in more than 70 medical publications and brings his impressive clinical experience and background to the CMO role.
Sally Ann Schneider has served in various behavioral health leadership roles for more than 28 years. She currently serves as Chief Executive of Behavioral Health Hospital of Pittsburgh. Sally Ann holds a bachelor’s degree along with a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Paula Pawloski serves as LifeCare Hospital of Pittsburgh’s Chief Nursing Officer. She has more than 25 years of experience in nursing and nursing management. Paula holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
