Since 1992, LifeCare has provided long-term, quality care to patients across the nation. Witnessing the transformation of our once single-standing hospital to the great company it is today is Medicare Criteria Coordinator Jeannie Gerace, who is celebrating her 25-year anniversary this month.
She started her career with us as an admissions clerk at our very first facility in Shreveport. It was at this facility that Gerace and the Shreveport team welcomed their first patient. “I greeted the very first patient admitted to LifeCare Shreveport. The patient started crying – what a moment for all of us,” says Gerace.
Over the years, Gerace has filled many roles since her days of being an admissions clerk, including switchboard operator, business office manager, collector and more. Today she is a Medicare Criteria Coordinator and operates out of our corporate office in Plano.
As with many here at LifeCare, Gerace has stayed with us because of the people. “I’ve always felt blessed to work for LifeCare. I love my job, and of course the awesome people.” She also enjoys working for an organization that is dedicated to healing and improving the lives of our patients. “My heart’s desire has always been to help others and I truly believe in LifeCare’s mission,” says Gerace.
